The artist behind HR Best Design is Holly Best of Denmark, Maine in the USA. She uses a variety of media to get the desired effect for all manner of wearable art. Her jewelry is custom and generally one of a kind. Some designs are repeated often but every piece is always made individually and by her own hand. She shuns the use of devices such as jigs or molds and chooses instead to let her hands guide her into each design. While art is always an evolving journey, there are three main materials used in her jewelry designs:

~ Polymer clay is formed, hardened, then painted with multi-layers of acrylic paints. It is then sealed with a water based primer before the gemstones and beads are wired into it with 14K gf wire

~ Wire jewelry is made using a wide variety of beads, objects and gemstones. While any type of wire can be utilized upon request, she generally uses yellow 14K gf wire for her work. Many of her wire designs include pearls as a base with other gemstones incorporated when the spirit moves her.

~ Long strands of beads and gemstones that are called “long ropes.” These can be worn in a variety of styles on the neck and come with a gold wire loop to aid in a variety of usages.
